Since 2003, Wescon Controls-Wichita has maintained ISO 9001 certification of the Quality Management System. The Juarez, MX facility obtained ISO 9001 certification of the QMS in 2022. The scope of the ISO 9001 certified QMS for each location is:
- Wichita – Design and Manufacture of Various Motion Controls
- Juarez, MX – Manufacture and Assembly of Cable Controls
When required, Wescon Controls is capable of providing PPAPs in compliance with current AIAG requirements and provide inspection reports that meet the Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirements in accordance with AS9102.
Wescon Controls strives to ensure that all products produced comply with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, commonly known as the “Conflict Minerals Act”.
The Wescon Controls Quality Assurance function is divided into several work stations situated within the manufacturing work cells. These stations are equipped with the specific inspection equipment necessary to support the work cells and validate the products produced. Cable control extensions are gaged at 100 percent, and all vehicle brake cables are 100 percent proof loaded.
Wescon Controls uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts to ensure consistent control extensions through the production run. Our Incoming Inspection Department not only validates purchased components, but also provides support to our Screw Machine and our Punch & Shear Departments.
Gage calibration is provided by an independent A2LA Accredited Laboratory, with the majority of the calibrations performed on-site. Any required testing which exceeds our capabilities is performed by a local independent test laboratory, which are both Nadcap and ISO/IEC 17025 certified.
Quality Assurance management at Wescon Controls offers training to its employees, at both of its Wichita and Juarez facilities, for blueprint reading, gage handling and measurement techniques as well as SPC training.
