Since 2003, Wescon Controls has maintained ISO 9001 certification for the Wichita location. The ISO 9001 certification covers the Quality Management System for the design and manufacture of various motion controls. When required, Wescon Controls can provide PPAPs in compliance with current AIAG requirements and provide inspection reports that meet the Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirements in accordance with AS9102.
The Juarez facility follows ISO 9001 guidelines, however the Quality Management System, in Juarez, is not currently ISO certified. This certification is being pursued and we anticipate it becoming ISO 9001 certified by the end of the calendar year.
Wescon Controls strives to ensure that all products produced comply with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, commonly known as the “Conflict Minerals Act”.
The Wescon Controls Quality Assurance function is divided into several work stations situated within the manufacturing work cells. These stations are equipped with the specific inspection equipment necessary to support the work cells and validate the products produced. Cable control extensions are gaged at 100 percent, and all vehicle brake cables are 100 percent proof loaded.
Wescon Controls uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts to ensure consistent control extensions through the production run. Our Incoming Inspection Department not only validates purchased components, but also provides support to our Screw Machine and our Punch & Shear Departments.
Gage calibration is provided by an independent A2LA Accredited Laboratory, with the majority of the calibrations performed on-site. Any required testing which exceeds our capabilities is performed by a local independent test laboratory, which are both Nadcap and ISO/IEC 17025 certified.
Quality Assurance management at Wescon Controls offers training to its employees, at both of its Wichita and Juarez facilities, for blueprint reading, gage handling and measurement techniques as well as SPC training.
