  • Drafting Technician

    Position Description:

    The Engineering Drafting Technician for Wescon Controls LLC assists the Engineering Department in its daily operation. This position is responsible and accountable for ensuring the accuracy of all documents released from the engineering department. Duties include assignment of incoming request from Sales, Production, Quality and other all drafting personnel regarding documents. Documents include production prints, sketches for quoting, catalog, visual shop aids, Engineering Standards and MD manuals. As a Designer, works with Engineers to create 3D models for designs and applications to meet customer requirements.

    Primary responsibilities of the role:

    • Works with Sales Application Engineers and Implementation Engineer as a team to develop documents to support customer and manufacturing request.

    • Assigns and/or performs incoming and outgoing request for Production Prints (SP#), Change Request (CR#), E.C.N., F.A.I.R., Q.D.R., and Miscellaneous documents.

    • Checks all drawings according to Engineering Standards, in order that the drawings may have a high standard of excellence for document release procedures.

    • Update and maintains Production Print viewer for Current drawings, T-drawings, Tool drawings, Customer Scanned drawings and Vendor drawings. Work with customer to resolve any issues relating to product print approval processes.

    • Responsible for Catalog and Engineering Standard maintenance for accuracy of part numbers, technical information, general format, ease of reading and professionalism of the general layout.

    • Creates Engineering Sketches as required. The sketches must be signed off by a Sales Application Engineer or Implementation Engineer before releasing to the appropriate department.

    • Leader of weekly Engineering Change Notice meeting, as directed by engineering requested changes.

    • Potential for supervisory responsibilities.

    Education/ Certification / Experience Required:

    • Graduate from Certified Drafting Program or BS in related Technical Degree in the management of engineering documents.

    • Demonstrated ability in AutoCAD, Inventor 3-D and/or Pro-E software

    • A thorough understanding of Windows Office operating systems.

    Education/ Certification / Experience Preferred:

    • Experience in drafting and document control using 3D model and 2D print layout.

    • Design experience with assembly, sheet metal, die-casting, and plastic injection molded components

    • Autodesk Certification

  • Inventory Control Manager

    Position Description:

    The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring  adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy.  Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems.  Develops and implements inventory control procedures.  Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle counts.  Will lead, train and direct the work of three others (Warehouse Supervisor & Shipping & Receiving clerks).  Must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures related to inventory control and be able to rely on their own experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.   A wide degree of creativity and latitude expected in this role.

    Primary responsibilities of the role:

    • Devises ways to optimize inventory control procedures
    • Inspects the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages
    • Ensures product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
    • Administers and schedules cycle counts and reports results to Accounting Department
    • Records daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
    • Uses software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
    • Places orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus
    • Analyzes data to anticipate future needs
    • Evaluates outside process vendors to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trusting relationships
    • Manages and collaborates with warehouse supervisor and staff to ensure business goals are met
    • Produces and provides reports to upper management on stock levels, issues etc. as required

    Education/ Certification / Experience Required:

    • 3 years’ experience with inventory control or manufacturing warehouse
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    Education/ Certification / Experience Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent
    • Relevant certifications (e.g. CPIM)

    Skills & Knowledge Required:

    • Working knowledge of inventory management software
    • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

    Skills & Knowledge preferred:

    • An analytical mind with strong math skills
    • Familiarity with Syteline inventory management software

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to move 75lb+ barrels
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
    • Job requires ability to stand on feet for long periods of time and extensive walking
    • Ability to travel to Juarez, Mexico facility
